Happy Easter #MursArmy! Have a lovely time whatever you’re up to today…and don’t eat too many chocolate eggs!
Olly Murs has a secret weapon to make sure his next album is his best yet – A-list pal Robbie Williams. I can exclusively reveal the Dear Darlin’ singer and his pop king buddy have been working on new material together.
But despite Robbie’s record of a massive 11 No.1 albums and seven No.1 singles, Mr Bubble Butt has warned the Robster it’s got to be killer not filler if it’s going to make the album tracklist.
Chatting at my Jog On To Cancer fundraiser Olly told me: “We’ve been writing together and we’re going to go into the studio. But I’ve told him it’s got to be amazing if he wants it to go on the album. We’re just going into the studio to have a giggle and see what happens.”
The pair teamed up for a cover of I Wanna Be Like You last year for Robbie’s album – and now he’s returning the favour. Olly and Robbie hit it off after performing together on the 2009 X Factor final.
Admitting they’re now close mates Olly added: “I don’t feel on the same level as Robbie because he’s such a big star. But I’ve got to know him more over the past few years and now we’re just good mates. We always have a laugh. I’ve been looking forward to getting him in the studio.”
Olly’s three albums have all been huge sellers, with two hitting the top spot. Revealing the fourth is almost ready to go, he said: “It’s pretty much finished and should be out in November.
“I’ve got a few more sessions. It’s been going really well.”
Olly has become one of X Factor’s most successful acts and with four No.1 singles under his belt, he admitted there’s huge expectation from label bosses.
He said: “There’s definitely pressure. I always think the next album is going to be my last. But that gives me the hunger to do better songs and take it to the next level.”

#MursArmyGivesBack - Week 2 Update**VERY IMPORTANT - PLEASE READ & REBLOG AND DONATE!**
So having taken an encouraging step forward in our first week, we hit a bit of a lull in this second week just gone. We’ve raised £70 so far, but we’re still a long way off hitting our £250 target, and the pressure is especially on now as it’s exactly 30 days from today until Olly is well, 30. (Hehe, nice synchronicity there.)
But anyway. We want this to not only be the best surprise Olly will get from us, the fans on his 30th birthday, but to also help Brainwave continue their amazing work for disabled young people in the UK and their families.
So please - do it today and give what you can along with your 30th birthday message for Olly at http://justgiving.com/MursArmyGivesBack or send your message and donate £2 via your mobile by texting MURS84 £2 to 70070.
And we also ask that you share our picture above with the links to donate everywhere you can, on here, Twitter, Facebook - you can take part even if you’re an overseas OM Daily reader. Let’s make this an unforgettable 30th for Olly!
